Presently she is the Managing Director since 2012. Even though she is a qualified Conveyancer, she manages the firm’s Property, Corporate/ Commercial, litigation and Recoveries department’s which includes heading the rates collection division for eThekwini Municipality and Recoveries for Land Bank of South Africa. She is involved mainly in civil litigation in the High Court which also includes medical negligence. She is also a Liquidator as there is minimal representation of African females in that sphere. Also in the past 22 years she has administered a number of Estates to the satisfaction of the Master of the High Court.  She has also been involved in various community projects.

In August 2014, she was appointed as part of the 3-person Task Team by the MEC of the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, KZN which investigated the restructuring process at Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife which had led to labour unrest within the organisation.

She is/has been entrusted with various positions of trust which require a high degree of honesty and integrity. These positions are/were at the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund (formerly Attorneys Fidelity Fund) and at the KwaZulu-Natal Law Society. She has a good and firm grasp of what it means to be accountable as is confirmed by her serving in Board’s and Audit committees of different institutions.

She holds and has held the following positions with various Board’s and professional institutions:

  • Member of the Attorneys Fidelity Fund’s (AFF) Board of Control since 2005. She stepped down as a member of its Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee after the appointment as its First Female Chairperson of the Board in March 2015 since the fund was formed in 1941. Her term as Chairperson ended on 13 March 2017 and she remains on EXCO of the Board and a member of the Claims Committee.
  • Member of the Appeals Tribunal of the Film and Publication Board SA appointed by the Minister of Communications in January 2017 to date.
  • Immediate past Board Member of PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa) having been appointed by the Minister of Transport in August 2014. She served also in the organisation’s Audit Committee and as Chairperson of the HR & Remuneration committee. She resigned from the board on 11 July 2016.
  • Council Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Law Society from Jan 2011 to 2018 and having been appointed as Vice President of the KZN Law Society in January 2013 to 2015.
  • Member of the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA) and having attended a number of the courses run by them on Director Development.
  • Member of the KwaZulu-Natal Municipal Bid Appeals Tribunal, 2013 to date.
  • Small Claims Court Commissioner, Durban – 2012 to 2015
  • Secretary General of the Black Lawyers Association (BLA) - October 2011 to 2013.
  • Chairperson of Policy and Governance Committee- Attorneys Fidelity Fund- June 2011 to 2014 and stepped down when she was appointed to EXCO of the Board in March 2014.
  • Board Member of TOURISM KWAZULU-NATAL (TKZN) Board, the position held from 2006 December until June 2012. She also served in the board’s Audit and Risk and HR committees.
  • Provincial Executive member of the South African Women Lawyers Association (SAWLA) - KZN branch from 2007 to 2011.Past Treasurer of Black Lawyers Association (BLA) - Durban branch, 2001-2007.
  • Past Member of the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) standing committee on Liquor licensing.

Criminal and civil litigation both in the Magistrate’s and High Courts, Corporate Law, drafting and vetting of Commercial Contracts, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Labour and Employment Matters, Mediation in Land Rights Disputes, Sports Law, Municipal Law, Procurement Law, Asset Forfeiture and General Legal Services.

Prior to his enrolment at Fort Hare, Madoda worked as a Paralegal (between 1993-1995) with the National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL) where he was primarily tasked, among other things, to assist indigent people on, human rights education and the overall management and administration of the regional NADEL office.

Madoda joined TKN Incorporated (then Ngubane and Partners) in 1999 as a candidate attorney and was appointed a Director in 2002. Over the years, Madoda has appeared in high profile Litigation cases such as the Sheryl Cwele vs State Appeal case and State vs Gaston Savoi and others. Over the past fifteen (19) years, he has been leading the personal injury department on High Court litigation claims involving claims of more than R15 million rand on behalf of the Road Accident Fund.

In addition, he has been advising a number of State organs and Ministries on Regulatory Law which have been later passed as Law by Parliament.

Madoda is a former secretary of White City X20 FC, Ladysmith KZN, whilst it was playing in the then Zam-buk league. In addition, Madoda has been serving in the KwaZulu-Natal South African Football Association (SAFA) eThekwini Region Disciplinary Committee as an evidence leader since 2016.

Madoda has been appointed as a Curator by the Asset Forfeiture Unit where high value assets, among others including, properties and farms that have been put under his care and management. He is the current curator de bonis for the McKinsey and Trillian matter with asset value of one billion six hundred million rand (R1,6 Billion). 

He has appeared in high profile disciplinary cases for SARS, and the Maphumulo Municipality.

He also comes with a wealth of experience in Local Government functionality with the invaluable experience he has amassed from the Municipal Bid Tribunal which he was appointed Deputy Chairman by the KZN Treasury. He has also presided over Body of Inquiries with Transnet. He is currently a Tender Appeal Ombudsman for Transnet and eThekwini Municipality. 

He is a Faculty member of the Black Lawyers Association (BLA) – Legal Education Centre for Trial Advocacy Training where he is tasked with imparting Trial Advocacy skills to young and aspirant legal practitioners.

He is also part of the Task Team on the new biomass to power project funded by the African Development Bank where TKN Inc. is the legal counsel.

He is a member of the Law Society of South Africa’s Committee in intellectual Property and serves on the following KwaZulu-Natal Law Society Committees:-

  • Contingency Committee;
  • High Court Committee; and
  • Ad Hoc Committee to consider Acting Judicial Appointments.
