ONE of South Africa’s most well established black law firms, (Ngubane and Partners), has now rebranded and changed its name to TKN Incorporated – a move that signals a “coming of age” and an exciting new chapter for this highly-respected legal firm and its three directors: Nonduduzo “Muke” Kheswa (MD), Thamsanqa Tembe and Madoda Nxumalo.
The rebranding was officially celebrated at a glittering dinner function held on Thursday, March 19 at the Southern Sun Elangeni Hotel, with many esteemed members of the legal profession, captains of industry and the firm’s valued clients in attendance. (See Gallery of photos)
Paul Moraka, CEO of Tlotlo Holdings, served as the programme director for the evening and guests included Black Lawyers Association President and recently appointed Co- Chair of the LSSA, Busani Mabunda; National Association of Democratic Lawyers President and Law Society of South Africa (LSSA) Co-Chairperson, Max Bhoqwana; Acting Judge President of the KwaZulu-Natal High Court, Justice Gyanda; Acting Chief Magistrate, Durban, E Ngubane; Justice, Justice Poswa; financial consultants, Vincent Faris and Wilfred Ngubane; LSSA CEO, Nic Swart; as well as Attorneys Fidelity Fund Chairperson, CP Fourie and its CEO, Motlatsi Molefe.
Speaking at the event, TKN Inc managing director, Muke Kheswa highlighted the significant changes the firm has undergone since 2012 when Ngubane and Partners Inc founder, Edward Ngubane died – and explained that with “all the work and effort that had been put in” since then, now was the perfect time to reflect that change in the name of business.
